SEOUL, November 4, 2026 – Hyundai Motor Group (the Group) opened its exhibition at World Hydrogen Expo 2026 (WHE 2026), showcasing hydrogen technologies and solutions across production, mobility and applications for cities and industries.

Held November 4–6 at KINTEX in Goyang, Korea, WHE 2026 brings together about 190 companies and organizations from 12 countries through an exhibition, global conference and business partnership programs. Under the theme ‘Hydrogen Moves to Market: Making Bankable Projects Work,’ the event provides a platform for companies, governments and academia to share hydrogen technologies and business opportunities and explore areas of collaboration.

Through its dedicated hydrogen brand and business platform, HTWO, the Group has organized its exhibition around three key themes: hydrogen production infrastructure, hydrogen mobility and integrated hydrogen ecosystems for cities and industries. Together, the exhibits demonstrate how hydrogen can connect production and mobility with a broader range of end-use applications.

On the opening day of WHE 2026, Hyundai Motor Group Vice Chair Jaehoon Chang visited the Group’s exhibition booth and those of other participating companies to review the latest hydrogen technologies and business developments on display.

What Hydrogen Production Technologies Is the Group Showcasing?

The Group is presenting two approaches to hydrogen production: modular polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) electrolysis and locally integrated waste-to-hydrogen (W2H) solutions.

  • PEM Electrolysis: Twelve stacks can be combined into a single electrolyzer system module to form a 5 megawatt-class system capable of producing about 700 metric tons of hydrogen annually. The modular architecture is scalable to hundreds of megawatts, with a 1 megawatt-class containerized demonstration facility operating in Gwangju and additional demonstration projects being pursued in Boryeong, Buan and Jeju, Korea.
  • W2H: Centered on HTWO Energy Cheongju, the Group is presenting a circular economy model that converts organic waste into hydrogen. It is also pursuing locally tailored projects, including a biogas-based hydrogen production facility in Paju, Korea, and initiatives in Indonesia.

What Does the Group’s Hydrogen Mobility Display Include?

The mobility display spans passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles (CV) and rail, and highlights solutions for CV operation, fleet management and refueling.

  • Hydrogen-powered vehicles: The display includes the 2027 NEXO SUV and a fuel cell electric cleaning truck
  • CV solutions: The Group is showcasing solutions that extend vehicle operation and maintenance to refueling.
o  Enhanced-durability fuel cell system for commercial vehicles: Showcased for the first time, the system features enhanced cells and key components for improved fuel cell stack durability. Designed for the long and driving distances of CVs, the system delivers greater reliability over extended periods of operation.
o  Bluelink Uptime Care: The integrated fleet management solution enables operators to monitor vehicle operation, key component conditions, abnormality diagnostics, preventive maintenance and real-time alerts.
o  Automatic Charging Robot-Hydrogen (ACR-H): The Group is unveiling the first demonstration of ACR-H for commercial vehicles. The exhibit will showcase the system automatically refueling a fuel cell electric cleaning truck. Designed to reduce repetitive refueling tasks, ACR-H enhances convenience for commercial vehicle drivers.
  • Hydrogen rail applications: A hydrogen-powered locomotive model and flat-type fuel cell system module demonstrate the potential application of hydrogen in high-volume, long-distance transport.

Where Can Integrated Hydrogen Ecosystems Be Applied?

The Group is presenting scenarios that connect hydrogen production and use based on local energy resources, infrastructure and demand. The scenarios span cities, ports, logistics operations, manufacturing sites and future cities.

  • Saemangeum AI Valley concept: The future-city model connects solar power and electrolysis with AI data centers, a robotics manufacturing plant and an AI hydrogen city concept that integrates hydrogen energy, AI and robotics across urban infrastructure and services, illustrating a self-sustaining, circular ecosystem.
  • Cities and industries: Additional scenarios link hydrogen production with applications across urban life, port logistics and manufacturing, showing how integrated ecosystems can be optimized for individual regions and industries.

What Can Visitors Experience at the Hyundai Motor Group Booth?

The Group is offering vehicle, educational and engagement programs that allow visitors to explore hydrogen technologies, business developments and potential applications firsthand.

  • Hydrogen CV experiences: Visitors can board a development model of the ELEC CITY Fuel Cell low-floor intercity bus, designed to meet next year’s requirement for low-floor intercity buses in Korea, and experience its accessibility features firsthand. From the afternoon of November 4 through November 5, ride programs featuring an enhanced UNIVERSE Fuel Cell coach bus and the New XCIENT Fuel Cell tractor will also be available for transportation and logistics operators, relevant institutions and media.
  • HTWO Academy: Specialists from Group affiliates, including Hyundai Rotem and Hyundai Steel, as well as partner organizations, share insights into hydrogen technologies, business developments, industry trends and collaborative projects.
  • Guided programs: Booth tours and special lectures provide a broader understanding of the hydrogen ecosystem and opportunities to discuss potential business applications and collaboration.

On November 4, the opening day of WHE 2026, the ‘Leadership Insight’ global conference will convene leaders from government, business and finance.

Ivana Jemelkova, CEO of the Hydrogen Council, will share insights on global hydrogen project developments and the investment outlook. A panel discussion will follow, bringing together Hyundai Motor Group and other leading Korean hydrogen companies to discuss accelerating investment in hydrogen projects and strengthening international collaboration.

Through its WHE 2026 exhibition, the Group aims to demonstrate how hydrogen production, mobility and end-use applications can work together as an integrated ecosystem tailored to the needs of different regions and industries. The Group will continue to advance practical hydrogen solutions and explore opportunities to expand their application.
